"Rik Cornelissen know effortless to put his hand to the large dynamic and tonal possibilities of the instrument." rakenDra Smit, Muziekwereld

Solo

Curious, always following my own ideas, well considering, creative, forming my own identity and views and most of all enthusiastic. These values characterise the musical journey which I have undertaken from the moment I started studying the accordion. Although respecting the traditional sounds, whether classical, jazz, tango or latin I’ve always been searching for a piece of ‘me’ in the music. Rik considers himself a nomadic musician, always traveling, always on the move and to a certain extent not fully embedded anywhere. A solo concert drifts from style to style in search of freedom, excitement and beauty.

  • Rik Cornelissen knows how to effortlessly manipulate the great dynamic and tonal possibilities of the instrument. No tango on this record, but fast, light fingers that reshape the rhythm, bass, melody and atmosphere of a wide repertoire in its own unique way.

    rakenDra Smit, Muziekwereld

  • Rik Cornelissen is a wonderful, exciting, intense, creative musician...who really listens to the sounds he is producing and treats the reeds at both ends of the dynamic spectrum with care.

    Joan Sommers

  • Delicacy and subtlety… it was enjoyment time and time again when Rik took the lead.
